A: Ashley: I think there’s a clue in the word ‘new’ in the question….. Sheesh…. but to actually answer the question, the actors in TV commercials are usually simply jobbing actors and rarely get as far as being listed on IMDB or any acting listing site… not sure why you need to know – if she simply looks like your friends twin, then why do you need to know who she is? And if you think she might actually BE your friend’s twin – why not simply ask your friend??

I bought a Ford Focus 1.8 Ghia reg year 2000 6 months ago from a ‘reputable’ dealer and have just been told by a mechanic that the head gasket has blown, should the repairs be covered by the dealer under any kind of warranty?

A: Once the manufacturers warranty has expired dealers usually give one months warranty on used cars unless you pay for a third party extended warranty.
It looks like you may have to pay for the repair.

A: At many auto parts stores you can buy a Haynes do-it-yourself manual for your model car, with step-by-step instructions, and basic explanations at the beginning of each chapter. If it is not in stock, you can order it online by searching on “auto repair manuals” on Yahoo search. In the front is a section on “Troubleshooting” that guides you step-by-step to find causes of most engine malfunctions based on the car’s symptoms. Whether you do the work yourself or not, it helps you make informed decisions and not be taken advantage of, and to not feel so “in the dark.”

For about the same price as a Haynes or Chilton’s repair manual, you can have online access (for a whole year) to model specific info for your particular vehicle. This is the same info that repair shops use. They have great wiring schematics/diagrams.
Also, for about $15 for a one-month subscription, you can get the factory manual, downloadable (careful! Mine was about 500 pages!) or viewable, at http://eAutoRepair.com.
Also, many people recommend autozone.com’s free online manuals.
Be sure to go over the instructions several times, visualizing it in your head, and writing down all the tools, supplies (like rags, brake fluid, etc.), to be ready. ESPECIALLY note the chapter on safety in the front of the manual! Like using a brick or 2×4 to block the diagonally opposite wheel, have it in park, on a level surface (it can roll off the jack and land on the ground, then how will you lift it up to get the jack back under it?), use jack stands, etc. Don’t take short cuts with safety items! You can get hurt!
That said, you can save a bundle by doing it yourself, and disc brakes are the easiest to work on.

I have Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 with 54 plate. My remote key fab battery has run out. I have got the battery CR2032 to replace. But I don’t know how to open the key fab. If you don’t change the battery with in 20 secs. the program is going to be disabled? is it true?
A: Twist a thin coin between the 2 halves of the transmitter near the key ring. Nothing in the Owners Manual about a time limit, and from what I understand of how they work, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Q: How do you access the auxillary input to use an mp3 player on a Ford Focus?
I recently purchased a 2005 Ford Focus SE Wagon and was trying to figure out how to hook up my mp3 player (Zune) via the aux input; however, I cannot figure it out. From the research that I have done, it appears to be located on the back of the head unit. Is this true and if so, how would I go about accessing it. Would it require the purchase of an installation kit, etc…..?
A: I could be wrong but I don’t think there is a aux port on the radio. There is a special plug that you need for your mp3 player to work. You need to get a wired mod. Go to Circuit City back to roadshop and get it. it is 50 bucks and they will install it for another 50. You will also need a Y cable that the install guys will need to install everything. I know this b/c My Ford 500 uses this same wire. Also if you need anything else feel free to email me. Hope I helped DUECES!!!
Q: How do I change the clutch slave cylinder in a 2000 Ford Focus?
I need to change the slave cylinder on a 2000 Ford Focus and normally these things are accessible from the engine bay or beneath the car but in this case it appears to be inside the bell housing. Is there a way to change this without pulling the transmission out? Any help here would save me a lot of time.

A: Concentric mounted slave cylinders are the rage nowadays. I’ve had to pull the 6-speed out of my Z-28 twice now for slave cylinder issues.

A: first off see if your radio has outputs for subwoofers on the back if not you need to buy a scosche output converter (recommended buy at wal-mart $10-$15) this piece you need to place in the dash dont put everything back together yet run your a/v coaxial away from any power wires or you`ll get a buzzing noise run your amp wires the way you sound you want some thump back there and your gonna need alot of juice at times while your at wal mart buy there power cap it comes with all your wiring you need for a 1500 watt system i have one in my car my head lights don`t even dim even with the ac on high and my radiator fans on it works well and make sure you put every hot wire on a fuse at the source your pulling off of!!!! it will save you a bad experience ask my G.F. LOL i put a remote hot wire on the wrong side of an ignition fuse (it was an accident i did use a test light but still hooked it up wrong) do all these things and you`ll beset up ready to jam (and you won`t have to keep buying alternator’s and batteries)

Q: When should replace a Ford Focus cam belt and how much should you pay (Parts and Labour)?
I have a ‘01 Petrol Ford Focus which I’ve done about 25,000miles & in total it has done about 90,000. I don’t know if the cam belt has ever been replaced. When shuld you do it and how much should pay?
A: In the states we call it a “timing belt.” Its usually done at about 100,000 miles but you know what; do it at 90 if you want.
As far as how much; the cost of replacing one has nothing to do with the belt, it has to do with the labor. The belt costs you about 25 bucks.
How much they have to take apart to get to it is what will determine the labor; it depends where it is on the engine. I had an 86 Honda Civic where it cost $250 because it was easy to get at. Then I had a 79 Pontiac where it cost $1100 because they had to take apart the whole engine.
Sometimes the timing belt also drives the water pump so its a good idea to have them put a new water pump in if it does. This way you don’t have to do the timing all over again just because the old pump blows and they have to take the belt off to replace it.

I have a 2003 Ford Focus and think the cup holders are absolutely ridiculous. Who would design something so assinign? Everytime I turn a corner the cup and (sometimes hot) liqiud flies all over the place! Come on people, this is the age of the i phone for christ’s sake!!!! What in the world were they thinking??? Just venting, but I know that someone else surely has the same problem, just wanted conformation that I was not the only one!

I have a 2002 Ford Focus SE which is making a squeaking and clunking sound when I put on the brakes. A friend of mine told me it was most likely one of the rotors which has gone bad. What does it cost to repair or replace one of the front rotors (front passenger side)? Is it best to replace both in the front, or only the one which makes the noise?
A: Replacement rotors from a parts store like autozone can cost anywhere from $20.00-$40.00 each,autozone offers two (2) brands the valuecraft brand that is cheaper than the duralast brand the difference that I could see was that the duralast ones were slightly thicker than the valuecraft ones therefore they could probably be turned twice where the valuecraft ones could probably be only turned once before they were junk. rotors from a ford dealer would probably be twice as expensive as any parts store ones and probably be no better than the duralast ones.Another thing if your rotors have never been turned then turning them might eliminate the noise and if you have to replace the rotors allways replace them in pairs and allway put new brake pads on as pads will wear to the shape of the rotor and if the rotor is uneven then the pad will have worn unevenly and you might end up with a pulsation in your brake pedal untill the uneven section of the old brake pad wears away.Again autozone offers three (3) grades of brake pads first you have the valuecraft that only comes with a short warranty second they offer the duralast pad that comes with a lifetime warranty which mean as long as you are the owner of that car and your brake pads wear out just bring the wornout brake pads to any autozone store and they will give you new ones for free and third they have the duralast gold pads same lifetime warranty but I only recomend them for high performance vehicles and being that your car is what it is the extra cost is not justified. After all this I would recomend having your brakes checked by a mechanic that you trust before buying anything.
Q: How can I fix the mileage on my Ford Focus?
I just changed my stock instrument cluster on my Ford Focus to one with a built in tachometer. Unfortunately the mileage is way off. Is there any way I can fix this on my own? If not, how can I get it fixed?
