Q: Transmission woes on the Honda Accord or is it the timing belt ?
My honda accord v6 is approaching 80,000 miles and just got the 1st hint of trouble ever. On lower speeds if I depress the accelerator pedal, sometimes there is a delayed response and then a nasty jerk. I have heard of this problem in the model. What is it? Is it the timing belt? Or is the transmission going? Will have to end up replacing the entire transmission ?
A: take it to a dealership… tell them the problem, there is an extended warinty on the trans that honda has offerd due to the amount of problems they have had with the trans in their cars as of late
good luck
Q: Anyone know why my Honda Accord dies when i let off the gas pedal?
I have an 89 Honda accord and we have replaced alot of items on the car, plugs, wires, axles, tie rod ends, brakes, needless to say the whole front end. Our next item is that when we are steady driving with the gas pedal down the car runs wonderful. However when we stop at a light or anytime we take off the gas pedal the car dies. We are not sure why this is happening. Does anyone have a clue?
A: its a idle air control motor or valve replace that and your problem will be corrected you car is fuel injected i see this problem all the time on fuel injected cars

I want to find out how to replace a 1998 honda accord 4dr side view mirror.
Do I have to remove the door panel in order to replace a broken power side view mirror? or Can I just disconnect the wire from the mirror and reattached without removing the door panel? Please let me know.
A: you will probably have to remove the inside door panel unless you can get to the bolts that hold the mirror on from the inside without taking it off.
Q: What’s the best engine to use for customizing a Honda accord?

A: Im gonna piss a bunch off people off with this but

Q: How much does it cost to replace a starter on a Honda Accord ‘97?
Today I was driving my Honda Accord it’s a ‘97 with 124k miles and I parked it and when I came out to go to work it wouldn’t start. At first I thought it was the battery, but the radio and lights still worked inside. I tried to give it a jump, but it wouldn’t even spark. Someone told me it could be the starter. Is that what it is? What else could it be? How much will it cost to replace the starter?
A: New: $251.83 (www.partstrain.com/
ShopByDepartment
/Starter/HONDA/ACCORD)
Used: About half that at any local used parts wreck yard
Q: Is there a after market strut or shock to make 2006 Honda Accord a smoother ride?
2006 Honda Accord EX has rough ride. Any after market struts or shocks which would make this a better ride? Would it be worth the effort for a small compact car?
I have Goodyear Assurance P205/60R16 tires on the car. These could also be contributing to the problem?
A: Monroe “Sensa-Trac” Quick struts worked for me,front and rear. They come with new springs, isolaters and bushings completely assembled ready to bolt up.Your car is only 3 yrs old,I believe the EX model comes with a more performance orientated suspension than the LX or DX.The Goodyear “Assurance”is a premium top-of-the-line tire. You may want to check into Michelin “Pilot”series tires. After a Web search at NAPA,Rockauto and Monroe I was not able to find “Quickstruts” for your vehicle. However the replacement Cartridges are a available through Monroe and KYB.Good Luck
Q: When do I need the major tune up for honda accord ‘97 sedan? How much and what needs to be done?
Im looking at buying a 1997 honda accord sedan 2.2L. Im not sure if the major tune up has been done yet, its at 107k miles. When does the major tune up need to be done for this year of the accord, how much, and what all needs to be replaced?
A: Take it to a mechanic and have them look at it. They can evaluate the condition much better than anybody here could.
Q: How to I find a cover for my honda accord side view mirror?
I have a 2003 Honda Accord sedan. I noticed yesterday that the cover that goes to the back of my right side view mirror is gone. Most likely lost at the car wash. It looks like a snap on and easy to fix. How do I find the right part? I should be able to put it back on as long as I can find the right part. I am sure the dealer would charge me an arm and a leg.
A: Contact your local dealership to obtain the part number and description, unless of course you already have that information. Then you should start searching the internet for companies that sell used or discounted parts, such as the one I have listed below. Or, you may call some salvage yards in your area to ask about the part in question. Ultimately, the salvage or junk yard may be your cheapest route… some places have the part already pulled and you pay them for the part, and others allow you to pull the part yourself for an additional savings.
Sometimes a little DIY research will save you a TON of money in the end. Good luck.

Q: How do you put subwoofers into a 1997 honda accord?
This is my first car, and I have no experience wiring, and don’t know anything about what kind of subwoofers I should get. I’m driving a 1997 honda accord, but the stereo system is not stock.
A: I’d say your best bet is to head down to your local discount store, grab the best set of subs you see, oh and make sure to get a matching amp. Then grab some old cardboard and build a custom enclosure. Get some good string from your local dollar store, cuz you really don’t need metal anyway… It’s just heavy and boring. Don’t forget to pick up about 20 rolls of duct tape from Home Depot, and throw it together in whatever way you see fit.
OR… You could just take your car to a reputable, yes reputable shop, and have them hook you up. I’ve known a lot of dealers/installers, and even though they make commission, most of them are good at setting you up with something in your price range with the performance you want. And did I mention that they’re professionals?
Q: How can I restore fuel efficiency to my 2002 Honda Accord?
I have a 2002 Honda Accord, 2.3 litre. As per specification, it should run about 100 km/10 litres in city and 100 km/7.2 litres on highway. But it’s giving me an average mileage of 100km/10 litres where I drive most on highways. What are the ways to restore efficiency to my 2002 Accord?
A: Your car does not need premium gas so do not run it. It is a waste of your money and of oil refineries limited abilities. If you have not in the past you can change the air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, and clean the fuel and intake systems. Also make sure that you change your oil regularly and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure listed on teh sticker on the drivers door well. Also, cars do not live up to the specified fuel standards that car companies claim. Up until model year 2007 the fuel economy was derived using out of date techniques. In 2008 the way they calculate this was completely changed. Go to this website for the old and new numbers http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/ratings2008.shtml
according to it the ratings dropped about 5%.
