Chevrolet Equinox

Are you looking for a Chevrolet Equinox?

Q: Does the Chevrolet Equinox 2005 support the AUX Wire for my iPod?
And if it does can you give me an idea of where it is?

A: Being the first production year for the Equinox the standard radio in all models is a AM-FM CD radio. There is no iPod function.

Q: How do you change the headlight lightbulb on a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?

A: Not much help with those other answers, huh? Let’s try this. You need to remove the headlamp. Kinda dumb, I know, but it’s not that hard. First we gotta remove that trim piece that clips on in the middle of the headlight. Raise the hood and find the 4 push-in retainers that go along the top of the front grille. Then when you pop off that trim on the headlight you will have a little room to work with. Remove those retainers. Get a flat-bladed screwdriver and a rag, place the rag above or below the trim on the headlight. The rag will protect the headlight from getting scratched when you pry up on the trim with the screwdriver. The trim will pop out towards you. That should give you enough room to remove the headlight. There are two hex-headed screws right on top you can easily see holding the headlight and then one more if you lean in and look down further. Remove the 3 bolts. Now just wiggle and lift up on the headlight and it should come loose. You may need to unplug the side marker bulb wiring to give you more room. Keep the rag wrapped around the trim piece to again avoid scratching the headlamp. Then you will see the big round black plug cover to turn and remove to gain access to the bulb. The bulbs are halogen type bulbs so don’t touch them with your hands. The oils from your skin will cause the bulbs to burn out prematurely. Use a clean cloth to handle the bulbs. Reinstall the headlamp the same way you removed it. You will see how it goes back in once you get it out.

Q: How can I play the AUX settings on my ‘06 Chevrolet Equinox?
My car has the Option for it its called XM/AUX and I once used the XM radio satellite but I cancelled my account. I’ve heard something that the AUX can work with iPods but where in the world is the AUX jack its like a mystery.

A: I just checked the owners manual for your vehicle and it says nothing about an Auxiliary Input Jack (which is what you are looking for). Section 3 pages 38-84 has any information you are looking for on your radio system. I hope that helps.

Q: what does LS and LT mean on a chevrolet equinox and which is better?
I don’t know what the difference is. Help….

A: Ok. So LS and LT are the models for the Equinox. Now the difference is the features. The LS is the basic model, you get only the basic features (power windows, power locks, etc.). While in the LT model you can get OnStar for free for a year as well as three months free on XM satelite radio. The LT can also come with leather. Now with more features means its gonna cost more money. So make sure you know what you want in your car.

Q: What is your opinion or the opnions of others that you have heard about the Chevrolet Equinox?

A: I owned one and I loved it. But I traded it for a Chevy HHR when the price of gas went up, and I wanted a standard shift. I highly recommend the Equinox if you want an SUV, and there are 2 different sizes. Also a luxury model of both the above. The Equinox is not heavy on gas, but the HHR is lighter.

Q: Do you know anyone that owns a Chevrolet Equinox.?
I am thinking about my next car purchase, and I specifically want to know if there have been any complaints about the seats.

I’ve previously owned two Saturns and developed some lower back pain which I attribute to the design of the seats. Other Saturn owners have told me the same thing.

I now own a Honda and the seats are very comfortable and no back discomfort.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks.

A: I have a co-worker with this type of transportation but I have to ask him first. I will tell you any information tomorrow, if this question is still open…

Sorry for waiting. So far the guy says that he likes the car and had no problem with it, but be advised that this person do a lot of weight lifting and very athletic person. It could be different compared to others. My advise is try to get a good road test and feel the difference of what you’re driving now. Maybe you can tell the difference after the road test. Maybe what is good to others, is not good for you, lol. Good luck…

Q: I bought a Chevrolet Equinox in Minnesota and have since moved to Manzanillo Mexico. Is my warranty good in M?

A: very doubtful unless you can find a gm certified dealer or shop. call the number in your owners manual and they will tell you..

Q: 2005 Chevrolet Equinox LS missing gas cap?
I drive a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox LS. Recently my gas cap was stolen (???) I have been to a scrap yard to try and find a new one and only found a more recent model LT. Will this gas cap work in my car and turn off my engine light? This gas cap has the ability to lock and my one before didnt… does that make a difference?

A: Just go to an auto parts store and buy one for your vehicle. Locking or non-locking, the choice is yours. Autozone has the non-locking ones for $12 and the locking caps for $17.

Q: I have a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. All of a sudden it did not want to start? Is there a current recall on them?

Q: Which car is more suited for a 16 year old driver Dodge Nitro, Ford Edge, or Chevrolet Equinox?
So I am almost a 16 year old girl and my parents have given me three cars to choose from the Nitro, Edge, and Equinox. I think they are all absolutely adorable so I just can’t flat out decide! Please tell me first, safety and all that stuff, but also which one you thinks cuter!
Thanks!! :)

A: Equinox would be best choice. It’s got OnStar, with that you got safety and convenience in one package. It’s got great fuel economy if you get the 4 cylinder. And, it’s the hottest one out of the bunch. Good luck finding one though, they’re in high demand and short supply right now.

Q: Will the cargo area of a (rental) Chevrolet Equinox hold luggage for five people?
It’s 31.4 cubic feet, but no width/length/floor dimensions are given. If your family/group of five has traveled in an Equinox or similar vehicle for about 10 days, I’d appreciate knowing your experience. We are picking it up in another state, and I wouldn’t like to be unpleasantly surprised.
Luggage is for 12 days – 3 adults, 2 children, ages 9 and 10.

A: The Equinox is a medium size SUV, you should have space in the luggage compartment for 5 small suitcases about 22 inches each, and may be small bags on top. Pass by any Chevrolet or GMC dealer and check it out. Good luck.

Q: someone must have this problem with their chevrolet Equinox??
When it snows, the traction control keeps coming on, but it makes me slide more on the road, so I have to keep shutting it off. Can anyone explain what is going on here?

A: Turn off the traction control is the correct method.

Nothing wrong with your suv. Traction control on ice condition has not been figure out yet.
