ok…i have a 1992 chevrolet silverado and i need some opinions! Do you think that the laser blue metallic color will look good on my truck! This color is used on the 2007 GM vehicles and i want to paint my truck that color! I realy need advice!

A: I find that many people are looking to upgrade their vehicle with a new model year color paint. Like the prior years that color will become popular and dated. If you paint your 92 like a 07 it will look great till everyone has a laser blue metallic truck. Why dont you go to a paint shop and pick a new color that is unique and something you like?

I would bet whatever color your 92 is, it was hot in 92…now its dated…think outside the box.

04 chevrolet silverado, the radio is the one with the rocking style radio preset buttons. I dont’ want to have to hook it up to the machine or pay for it to be unlocked. Help!
also, the solution where you hold the 3 and 4 buttons, then the am/fm button to get some codes, doesn’t work.

A: Must be done by a shop that has access to GM TIS2WEB Service Programming System, and a TECH II scantool or an MDI interface tool. All GM dealers have this, but very few aftermarket shops do.

My husband has a 1994 Chevrolet Silverado, with extended cab and long bed. He wrecked it and bent the frame. The engine and transmission are still in GREAT condition, and he would like to find the shell of another Chevrolet Silverado that has a good frame and body to put his engine and/or transmission in.

Can anyone tell me what years are compatible? It need not be extended cab nor long bed.

Right now, his truck still runs. We have been using it on the farm.

A: Depends on your motor , But should fit most chev`s from 88 -95. The trans is the same , the driveshafts are different

I am looking at 2 Chevrolet Silverado trucks both 1500 one is a 98 with 150.000miles and all electric and 4×4 Z71 package.and the other is an 01 Chevrolet Silverado with 125.000 miles all elctric 4×4 both are 3 door ext. cab.

A: i would go with the 01 its newer and thet out weighs the z-71 package

A: look for a rubber gromet in your firewall and shove the wire through, look for one near your footwells so you can run your wires under interior

Q: Does a 1995 Chevrolet K1500 Silverado 4×4 have a brake lamp relay on the fuse box?
I have a 1995 Chevrolet K1500 Silverado 4×4 that I can not get the brake lights to work on. I could rig up a wire from the brake switch above the brake pedal to the battery but I want to fix it the right way.

A: You should pull the brake light apart & check the circuit board where your bulbs plug in. They were famous for corroding, you can try spraying the circuit if you do see signs of moisture.

Q: What truck should I go for Chevrolet Silverado LTZ or a Ford F-150 Harley Davidson?
I want a very good buy but can’t decide which one, a lot of people say Ford sucks as well for Chevrolet. Which one will last longer run better and look nicer?

A: Toyota Tundra, but between the 2 you listed I would go with the Chev.

Q: How to remove steering wheel on 1988 chevrolet silverado. The blinker bracket is loose and I can’t turn wheel.
I have a 1988 chevy silverado 1500 and the blinker bracket is loose. The blinker won’t work and whenever I turn the steering wheel it cracks and pops. The bracket even presses the horn sometimes. I need to remove the steering wheel to fix the problem but I don’t know how go about it. Does anyone know how to do this or can anyone give me some advice?? Has anyone ever had this kind of problem before? Please help!!! Thanks.

A: ON the back side of the steering wheel spokes are two screws that hold the faceplate. Remove them to get to the steering wheel nut. Loosen the nut and use a steering wheel puller (you can rent one at any auto supply store) to remove the steering wheel and gain access to the ignition column and turn signal switch.

Q: How do you reset the clock on a chevrolet silverado?
I just bought a 200 chevy silverado Z71. half ton, dual exhaust. It didn’t come with an owner’s manual and I cannot figure out how to set the time on the clock. This is the first chevy I have owned, so any help would be appreciated.
There is no set button. Just buttons for the hour and minutes. That is what threw me off in the first place.

A: Per my manual for my 2004 GMC:

Press and hold the HR or MIN arrow for 2 seconds. Then press HR until the correct hour appears on the display. Press and hold MIN until the correct minute appears on the display. The time amy be set with the ignition on or off.

You may also be able to synch it up with FM radio RDS info:

Press and hold the Hr and MIN buttons until RDS TIME appears on the display (more than 2 seconds). To accept the time, press and hold the hr and min buttons at the same time for another 2 seconds. If no time is availabel from that particular FM station – NO UPDAT will appear on the display. Try another station and repeat.

A: Get some spray clear coat,sand around the edges of the peeling area with fine sand paper (600 grit and use water when you sand) then dry it good and lightly spray clear coat on the peeling part!

Q: How do you get the warning chime to work in a 2005 chevrolet silverado?
i have a 2005 silverado 4.3 W/T and one day the warning chime just stoped working! its kind of an inconvience because i have the information screen on the dash that warns me of problems with the truck but i dont pay attention to it when im driving and the chime gets my attention! could it possibly be a blown fuse?

A: could be a fuse but I would first check the owners manual and see what it says about the chime, also it should still be under warranty so if you can’t figure it out take it back to the dealer.
