Q: Has anyone had any problems with the Ford Edge?
Am considering buying a Ford Edge and would like any feedback on the car Pros or Cons? Thanks so much!

A: Been driving one since August 07. No problems whatsoever. It is a truly great car.

Q: Does anyone know how I can bypass my Ford Edge Navigation system so I can enter an address while driving?
2007 Ford Edge w/ Navigation. Unit manufactured by Pioneer for Ford Motors. When in motion, the unit locks the ability to enter a new address, etc.

A: Yes you can you need to put a bypass switch in to trick it to think it’s in park. Not sure what wire it;s is one the head unit but one wire goes to the parking brake or shifter select. This need to be essentially jumped out with a switch. Hope this helps.

Q: Difference between Ford Edge SE and Limited?
I’m looking at a new 2010 Ford Edge. I can’t seem to find any difference between the Edge SE with the 202A package and the Edge Limited with no options. The Limited MSRP is $600 more so there must be some difference. The sales people are clueless.

A: I’m sorry that you feel that salespeople are “clueless”, but perhaps the salespeople that you have met didn’t have the time to explain the details about ordering packages

The SEL has a list of “standard” cosmetic and option differences from the LIMITED and 3 different “packages” (200A, 201A, and 202A)
Each one of those packages contains different features/options/cosmetics.
When you go up to the 202A package, Many of the “options” are things that come “standard” in the LIMITED

But the LIMITED also has 3 different packages (300A, 301A, and 302A).
So it is complicated to explain the differences without going into ALL the package contents and available options for each package.

Most Certified Salespeople aren’t “clueless”… it’s just that it is more efficient for them to sit down with you and find out which items/features/options are most important to each customer and advise packages according to the customer needs/desires.

That being said^…
The major differences between the SEL 202A (pretty loaded) package and the “base” (300A) LIMITED package would be:

The best way to determine which trim level and which packages and which options will work for you (without the assistance of a Certified Sales Consultant) would be to study the product brochure. Certified salespeople usually know these specs like the back of their hands and can assist you in determining which vehicle is right for your needs/desires, and also your budget.

The brochures don’t give the price differences, but the Ford website does.
Again.. this is why a knowledgeable Certified salesperson comes in handy and helpful, but if you want to do it (research) all yourself, the information is available online too.

A Certified Ford Sales Consultant also has additional ordering guides that are more comprehensive but only available from a secure Company site that the general public cannot access. And a Certified Sales Consultant has the added abilities of locating the exact right vehicle for you in a timelier fashion (than doing it all on your own).
Its a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.

Q: When does the Ford Edge come out?
Does anyone know roughly around what date the new Ford Edge is going to be on Ford lots? I’m excited to test drive and see the car because I’m considering buying one. Also does anyone have an idea about the price of the car?

A: We should be getting our first one mid november, for some reason ford is giving us an early release one this time.

Where do you people get your info, this is not made to compete with the hhr or caliber, it’s made to compete with the nissan mirano, lexus, etc…

And by the way Ford is not going under, Ford is world wide, they are right sizing at this point has been talked about for years and now is the time to do it!

Think about the impact that it would have on this country if one of the 3 major car companys went under?

A: It’s an over priced huge box. You’re not visually impaired are you? If so maybe you shouldn’t be driving.

If I buy a Ford Edge with an in-dash Navigation system, do I have to pay a monthly fee to use the system for getting directions? It doesn’t have real time traffic, weather, etc.

I am looking for a new car, and although my dream car would be the mustang, it is not practical in my life right now, so I am starting to look at the Edge. A: I’ve seen a few around. Nice looking crossover SUV. Seems kind of pricey though. Maybe it’s just the one I saw on the lot when I was looking at the Fusions.

By the way, the quality of my new Fusion is Excellent! If the Edge is made as well, you’ll be pleased with it.

Q: How much to fill up gas tank of a FORD EDGE?
Does anyone know how much to fill up on Ford Edge…an estimate since I know gas prices are different everywhere.
Looking to spend less than $60 to fill up on an SUV.

A: Tank capacity is 19 gallons.
Most people fill up around ‘E’, which typically means you have 2-3 gallons left.

So, you figure you put 16 gallons every time you fill up times the price per gallon.
Right now, it would be about $50.

However, if gas goes to what they say it will by the end of the summer ($3.50-$4), you will easily surpass $60 per tank.

I purchase a 2010 ford edge 3 month ago the stereo is just 1 disc cd player. I would like to have a ford sync stereo installed in to my edge . Does anyone know if this can be done and how much would it cost

A: It can be done, the kit number is 9R3Z-14D212-A-E09

Pricing will vary, but is around $530-$550 plus installation.

You will not have the button on the wheel for that price, but a little pod with the buttons that fastens to the dash.

Q: do you think $39,986 for a fully loaded 2011 ford edge is to much money to spent on a ford?
i really like the car & for all the features it has it is thousands cheaper then then the lexus rx.

A: It’s a nice car, but for that money, I’d personally buy a 1 year old (2010) Lexus RX. Let someone else eat the initial depreciation, it’s still well, well under the factory warranty, there’s very little difference between a car bought with 10K miles and a car bought new.

Q: Where can I find a replacement steering wheel center emblem for a 2002 ford ranger edge?How do I replace it?
I bought a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge.On the Steering Wheel the Ford Emblem was dented in.I’m just trying to find one and replace it to make it look better.

A: Unfortunately the emblem may be part of the airbag assembly. Better check with Ford to find out if it is available seperately. If it is most likely it is held with double sided 3m mounting tape.

Q: Do I want a dark gray of silver Ford Edge?
I am looking at buying a Ford Edge. I like both the dark gray and the silver car. Which will be cooler in the heat… is the dark gray just as bad as a black car (I live in So Cal)? Which will be better with dirt and scratches? I used to have a silver car and it did well with dirt and scratches, how does the dark gray stand up?

A: The silver will reflect the heat as where the dark gray will absorb it and be hotter. The silver will not show dirt or minor scratches nearly as bad as a dark color.

A: GPS navigation and Sync are separate options. Edges without navigation will not have the screen in the dash. The screen is for the GPS navigation system.

Q: does the 08 ford edge have black leather seats?
i want to get the edge soon, but when i test drove it the man said he didn’t know if it had the seats or not and when i go to the ford website if i build the car it shows me black cloth……. so does the 08 ford edge have black leather seats?

Q: Which is better, ford edge, or nissan murano (we kept one overnight and love it!)?
So my mom is buying a crossover, and we have wittled it down to the ford edge, and the nissan murano. We would like to know which is better for the long run (example durability, and resale value).

A: Nissan Murano. The Ford EDGE was an excellent attemp by Ford to win the crown of the best crossover, but they missed some small things that are really necissary to make a great car. The major complaints on the EDGE was the lack of a footrest for the driver, and a very long braking distance.

I terms of resale value, reliability, safety records, and overall quality, the Nissan will be better. Though with this said, the Ford has recieved excellent safety ratings and has proven to be very reliable.

What I would do is wait a year if possible before your purchase. In a year, the Ford will remove most of the kinks in the EDGE and Murano will either prove to be reliable or unreliable.

I would wait on the Murano because lots of Nissan Vehicals have horendous reliability fr the first year, then Nissan tweaks them and they get better.

But, if you were purchasing now, I would definitly take a look at the Mazda CX7 or, if you would like a third row seat, the Hyundai Veracruz is an excellent choice. The Hyundai looks really cool. It is suppose to look like the Lexus RX350, but form the back it reminds me of an Audi.
