Q: I own a 1999 GMC Sierra 1500. Is occasional aggressive style driving damaging?
I usually drive at a relaxed style, braking slowly, accelerating at a normal pace etc but occasionally I will go “mudding” or drive my truck around country roads and sometimes spin out when driving etc. Does occasional driving like this damage the car any?

A: As long as you maintain your vehicle on a regular basis, it’s perfectly fine to take your truck out for some mudding and off-roading. Just make sure you change you regularly change your oil & other important fluids.

A: yes and no

you can install the hitch, but almost anything you plan on towing will put you over the weight limits of the vehicle

dont forget, not only does tour truck need to pull the weight, but support the weight and stop he momentum

Q: How do change the Headlight Switch in a !993 GMC Sierra 1500?
I have a 1993 GMC Sierra Single cab and it takes me about 15 minutes to get my panel lights to work. The headlights turn on just fine but they mph and rpms do not light up? If i went to Autozone and picked up a new switch how would i go about replacing it?

A: Take the screws out of the plastic panel that goes around the light switch, speedometer etc in front of the driver. The switch is mounted on the back of that panel………….md

Q: I have a 2008 gmc sierra 1500, i want to put a super 44 series flowmaster on it what size inlet do i need?
What inlet does the flowmaster have to have to fit my truck?

A: you probably have the gm odd size of 2.75 (id). so 2.5 or 3 will work. you may need a muffler shop to make you adapters.

Q: 1998 GMC Sierra 1500 with 305 vortec V8 doesn’t start right up when cold the way it use to. I?

A: Check your fuel pressure regulator. It is located on the fuel rail on the intake manifold. Remove the vacuum hose and look for signs of fuel if it is wet it is bad. Could also be your fuel pump getting weak. Try turning key on and off a few times before trying to start it.

Q: Can I put dodge or ford cab lights on my 99 gmc sierra 1500 z71?
The 08 Recon Ford cablights look sweet and I want to put them on my truck.

A: Yeah you could do it. The hard part will be wiring them in. You will have to fish the wire to each light, and connect them all… Then run a power wire down your A-pillar to your parking light circuit. You can ground the lights to the cab, so that is one less wire you need to pull.

There may be a little bit different curve on the cabs of the two trucks, but the light gasket should make up for that difference so that it doesn’t leak. I also recommend adding a small amount of RTV to the screws when installed to help with any water entering the vehicle.

A: i jsut installed sum speakers in my car…i attached to the parcel shefl n wired them from there n my dad made sum girlls to put over them so its looks real nice and smart

A: In the immortal words of Emmit Brown, “we may have to blast!” No, seriously, I have a 2000 GMC 2500 4×4 and they have a few screws around the arm rest and here and there and when you get them all out the panels have clips that with a little finesse they will pop out . work on it you’ll figure it out.

Q: Can a travel trailer that is 5100 lbs dry weight be pulled easily with GMC Sierra 1500?
I know manual says up to 7400 lbs but I wonder if it is really going to be tough for the truck. Truck also has dual flowmaster and K&N air intake system for added horsepower.

A: Yes. I had a 94 with a 5.7 and it did just fine. Very important, however, NOT to pull the trailor in overdrive as it will make your clutches slip inside your automatic transmission (if yours is automatic) and ruin the transmission overdrive. I am assuming you have a 350 v8 as I did when I say “yes, it will pull it fine”. I then went to a 9000 lb camper and felt the clutches/transmission slipping just barely up a steep hill. Liking the camper I moved to a heavier truck w/a diesel engine….

Q: ok truck wont start only turn over 90 gmc sierra 1500 stepside?
it wouldent run and then i put a fuel pump in did the same thing so i checked the cap and rotor and the rotor was junk so i replaced the cap as well… it has recent plugs and wire so my only question is do you think it could be a coil ?

A: Does it turn over at normal speed, if not it is your starter. On those older GMC’s they were prone to failure

A: Are we talking fly wheel or flex plate? If you have a manual transmission it is a fly wheel, an automatic transmission uses a flex plate. The manual trans will have a machined surface that is used for the clutch and the flex plate is a matched alignment of bolt holes that will only match up when in the correct position. The flex plate will also on some applications have a beveled edge that goes away from the crank when mounted correctly. Good Luck

Yes, it is extended cab. 4WD.

A: 4 WD usually have lube points specially on prop shafts,ball joints and tie rod ends.

Q: how do i remove the backseat of my ‘94 GMC sierra 1500?
im trying to remove the backseat of my 1994 GMC 1500 truck. i need to know how to remove the Backseat. and the little toolbox with the Jack in it as well. any help would be awsome. thanks!

A: On the bottom rear of the seat there is one nut and bolt on each side holding the seat to the hinge. Once those are out you can lift it strait up and out.

To get the jack box out you will have you remove the stud that holds the lid (you can put a socket on the top of it or use vice grips). Then there is one more on the bottom towards the middle of the truck.

Q: I have 2004 GMC sierra 1500 with the speedometer acting up and the high beam headlight indicator acting up ?
One mechanic said a bad ground could be causing this. Anyone else encountered these two issues?

A: your whole instrument panel cluster needs to be replaced, and t has nothing to do with ur beam light. thats another concern. GM Had s special policy adjustment for certain year make and models, you can call you local gmc dealer and see if you VIN is included, because these special policies from gm are vin specific, or you can call GMC Customer assistance and they will be able to tell you if your vin is included in the 07187 Special policy adjustment. if you are, next is that, what’s the mileage of your veh? iit covers only up to 7 years or 70,000 miles which ever comes first from the in service date, 70-80,000 miles, you will pay for the labor, gm will pay for the part.;
