A: yes ive done it with a little cutting here and adapter kits and weldind here. plan on doing it for about 3 weeks. . and i took my time and make sure its rite the first time or u will be ripping it out again and starting all over.

A: If yours is an automatic, you should have a dipstick on the front side of the transmission. you will need to have the vehicle running to check. If low, fill through the same tube the dipstick came out of.

If you have a manual transmission, you have a fill plug on the bottom front of the transmission. Take the plug out and stick your finger in the hole. If you feel fluid at the hole, then it’s full, but if you don’t feel it, add half a quart and recheck.

Q: What does “shift lock” button do on my toyota rav4?
Ive got a toyota rav4 and where the gears are (on the flat bit near where the letters P and R, etc) there is a small round cyliner button poking up and next to it it says “shift lock”

i pushed this button out of curiosity and its locked my gear stick! how do i stop it and get it back to how it was?! what hav i done?

A: there should be a small button or keyhole near the gearshift, hit the button or stick your car-key in the hole and turn it. you just HAD to press that button didn’t you?(i would’ve done the same thing)

Q: I changed the alternator in my toyota rav4 and now the tail and dash lights dont work?
please help me…i have a 1996 toyota rav4 and i replaced the alternator and now the tail lights, brake lights, and dash lights are not working:( does anyone have any idea on what the problem is? also do you know where i could find the fuse panel in this car? A: Change the fuse. These blow often in Toyotas.

The cost of a car depends upon 2 factors–how old it is and how much mileage. because mileage is a factor to explain how much it’s been used or driven.
Obviously, the less driven and the newer car is going to be worth more $$$.
Check the newspaper in your local area and just look at what people are trying to sell their Rav4’s for. It gives you an idea of what people expect for them in your area. But be careful, because people have way diff prices for what they really are. But it’s still a good guide.

I’d expect that it’d cost $7,000 average condition up to $10,000 for really best Rav4 condition.

A: 114.99 for the part at autozone…its so easy to change I would suggest trying to change it yourself…but for labor your looking at about a half hour to one hour charge at 65-75 per hour. Btw it would probably take longer to find it than to change it ( about 5 minutes max.)

A: You have a couple of different options and they depend on the money you decide to spend. You can start off by using a Line Level Converter, which is the simplest. All it does is change the sound level you get from the wires that run from the deck to the speakers to something lower for the amp to handle). You could also get into using the newer components that hook into the factory radio that are to an extent an EQ built just for what you want to do. They offer RCA outputs for amplifiers and adjustments to bring out the frequencies that are lost using a factory deck. You are looking at anywhere from 30 dollars or less to over 400 dollars. Again, just depends on what you want to do.

A: It may be burning oil. The best way to check this is to have your spark plugs looked at for fouling.

Okay, so heres the story, I have a Toyota Rav4, that I bought in 2005, up until now the balance is $13,900 around there, and both me and my boyfriend want another car for me, since I’ve always wanted a small girly car, but how is the whole process of exchanging? Is it worth it? What happens to all the payments I made in the last two years?

A: It depends on what the car is worth to whoever is willing to buy it. If you sell the car yourself and can get the $13.9K then you can pay off your loan and start fresh with a new car.

However if you can only find someone who is willing to pay $10K for the car, you’ll need to find some way to pay off the balance ($13.9K-10K = $3.9K). Means you need to find $3900 to pay off your debt for the car.

If you can sell if for more than it’s worth, say you find a buyer willing to pay $15K, then you get to keep the difference ($15K-13.9K = $1.1K). Means the 2 years you’ve been paying the car off amounted to $1100.

If you go to a dealership to trade in the car, everything works pretty much the same, however they typically will only offer you what they feel the car is worth to them. Any difference in amount will be applied to your new car’s loan balance. So if a dealership is only willing to pay $10K for your old car, they will typically add the $3.9K loan difference to your new loan. If they are willing to pay $15K, then they will reduce your new loan balance by the $1.1K

Is it worth it is really up to you to decide how long you want to continue to carry a loan balance, how much it will cost you or benefit you.
