toyota trucks
Are you looking for a toyota trucks for sale?
Q: Toyota Trucks?
Are Toyota’s a good truck.I heard there engines last forever but the body sucks. Which Toyota truck is the best.
A: Toyota has marketed their trucks well, thats it. I’ve owned 2 of their trucks and won’t own a 3rd. No the engines do not last forever and they don’t outlast any engine offered by an American manufacturer either. ESPECIALLY the 22RE that motor is a piece of crap known for popping head gaskets left and right and is the #1 most replaced motor out there, fortunatley jap motors are easy to come by as their laws require a complete engine replacement in every vehicle at 30K miles. Here are some things to ponder::
Inline (I) motors tend to last much longer than V motors because of Blance issues related to the V design.
Engines with less torque will last longer than engines with higher torque (remember Torque is the twisting motion that moves you HP does not move you at all, HP is mearly a measure of how quickly the torque can be applied.
The engine that Toyota built it’s reputation for having a motor that will run forever is the 22R not to be confused with the 22RE, VERY similar motor but not full of the design flaws the 22RE has with the upper half of the motor. 22R==Carbed 22RE==Fuel injected NOW taking into account that the 22R is an Inline 4 cylinder with almost NO Torque one can see how just the basic design of this motor says it should get alot of mileage, Toyota focused and pushed this HARD and it paid off by building a reputation that their engines run forever instead of the real world reality that Toyota’s have small underpowered engines. This was covered up by using THIN and I do mean THIN crappy metal when they built the bodies so that the vehicle was super light, this however resulted in the “Body Sucks” comments you’ve heard. Toyota’s really aren’t all that great, they were just marketed great!
Q: toyota trucks?
i got a 93 yota 4×4, driven very hard only 140,000 miles on it time for the timing belt to be replaced..
A: You are supposed to replace the timing belt every 100,000 miles. So, you are past due and I would recommend changing it b/c if it breaks than you are stuck.
Q: How good are the 80’s toyota trucks?
I’m looking for a good, cheap, reliable pickup, that still looks good, and gets decent gas mileage. And I’d prefer one that’s lifted a little, and would also prefer a 4X4. I’ve seen a few old toyotas around on craigs list for around $1000 that seem to be in good condition despite the miles. And according to this fuel economy website, they get very good gas mileage, so I’m just wondering a few things.
1. Do they still have decent power?
2. Does lifting the truck lower gas mileage?
3. When a truck is lifted, does it reduce the power at all, pushing those bigger tires?
4. If something does break, is it still easy to find parts, and are they relatively cheap?
5. How long do the big tires, or boggers last on the road, and are they real expensive to replace?
6. What’s the biggest thing I need to watch out for buying a truck like that?
7. Do you think for what I’m looking for, an old toyota is my best bet, or something else?
A: u might want to check the engine first if it says 18R on front of engine stay away from those they are seriously underpowered – go with 20R engine . 22R engine was first introduced to toyota trucks in 87 to 88 and they are one of the best and powerful engines to have and for lifting no not by much but if u change the tire size yes it can it can lose some of the power if u are still thinking of putting big tires on u might have to change the axle ratio and parts some parts are still cheap but others are reasonably priced and widely available and u might want to keep mud tires or boggers off the road as much as possible they wear out fast !!! or you can do is get some extra rims and put big tires on it so u can use them when u want to play around in but keep your regular set of tires to use on roads and u might want to check the cab for rust especially on the floorboards because if there is alot of rust the floor board support can collapse and and the cab would feel like they are not attached to the truck anymore(had that happen to me and it is alot of work to fix it right) and make sure there is no rattling noise of the engine at idle(just after tap the pedal to rev it lightly)if there it is it might need a new timing chain tensioner or a new timing chain set. timing chain set about 120 bucks but alot of labor
Q: Are old Toyota trucks more reliable than the Universe?
If I get a really old toyota truck, like a 1985 with up tp 200 000 miles on it, as my first cheap ride, will it still be reliable?
Or are they not made to last that long?
A: An older Jeep of the same era is a much better investment. The AMC engines are quite bulletproof and last forever, and the aftermarket for these vehicles is excellent. I have a 1987 Jeep that has had the crap beaten out of it for 20 years, has 156k miles, and is a daily driver. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Hope this helps.
Q: how do you think the toyota trucks will do today?
given the new stricter restrictor plate rule in the trucks – the same as in the nationwide series – how do you think the toyota truck teams will do today? benson, busch, bodine, skinner, cook, annett, star, musgrave, white, and reutimann will all be in toyota trucks. of course, this isn’t a big track, so i don’t think horsepower will be the determining factor, but you never know.
so whatcha think?
A: I think they will do what they normally do. Benson is my pick to win it but he normally is. I don’t think that it will affect them. Its a change but I don’t think it will be too big.
Q: is there a magazine for older toyota trucks?
my friend just bought an 87 toyota pickup and his birthday is coming up soon. is there a magazone dedicated to toyota trucks, preferably older models?
A: Haynes manual (although this is a mechanics guide to take apart the truck).
you can check Mini Truckin they deal with smaller trucks sometimes toyota’s but specialize in lowered/slammed trucks.

or
Yotatech.com is a good site as well, its more of a forum for Toyota’s.
Q: How tough are toyota trucks?
I bought a 85′ Toyota pickup with the solid straight axle. This seems to be a popular selling point, but exactly how tough is it? Some people are pretty rough with these trucks. How much abuse can they really take? I like to go off roading and recently bottomed out my axle on some rocks. There wasn’t any noticable damage though. Should I be concerned or are those axles so solid I shouldn’t even worry about it?
A: I had a 83 and 87 both solid axles. Both lifted one with 33 one with 35. Both I beat to hell. Never broke a drive shaft or axles. Had a friend that had a 85 with 35’s thing wheeled pretty good. The only downfall to Yotas in the 80″s are that the frames and beds rot. Anyone that has or had a Toyota loves them . If you go wheelin Toyotas are great. I used to keep up with jeeps and other trucks with lockers. Small and compact can’t beat that
Q: What are those flip out windows on old toyota trucks in the front called, and how do you replace them?
Most of the old toyotas actually don’t have them. You press a button and they spin outward so you can actually direct air inside the truck at different angles. I need to replace one of them, and I have no money >< I do have access to some glass and someone who could cut it for me for free though.
A: there called vent windows.
Q: Where Can I get the prices of Hyundai and Toyota Trucks?
I need the prices of Hyundai and Toyota Trucks
A: kbb.com
Q: im confused about the new toyota trucks please help?
okay im intersted in the new toyota tacoma’s but im confused about one thing. What is the difference with the tacoma pre runner sr5 and the tacoma pre runner, or just the tacoma what is the difference?
A: Basically the Tacoma comes in several trim levels. Pre runner means it’s a 2WD truck, but is made to look like a 4WD (fender flares, raised suspension, larger tires, etc). Then you have SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off Road, X-Runner (2WD sport truck). Your best bet is to go to the Toyota website and look at the Tacoma, maybe even build one up so you can see what each model comes with.
Q: I am in need of Toyota trucks Differentials 10/41 year 87 and newer. I will buy all differntials out there.?
I am in need of toyota trucks differentials and radiators 4×4 or 2 wheel drive.
I will buy everything in stuck year 87 and later.
A: Tap recycleing…Toyota Auto Parts…They are in Rancho Cordova Calif. They have alot of these parts sitting on the shelves….
Q: I am looking for the pricing on new toyota tacoma trucks.?
Iam in the market for a new truck and would really like a toyota tacoma, and I need to know the cost .
A: go to kelly blue book, kbb.com or just google it. seriously. in the time it took you to type this question, you could’ve already found the answer 5 times over.
Q: Why don’t Toyota trucks have diesel powerplants or dual rear wheel axles?
A: Because they are toy trucks. The Japanese do not understand why anyone would possibly need such a large, powerful vehicle.
Q: why do my toyota trucks rotors keep warping?
I had new rotors and pads put on last fall and now ( no charge)
Ive had the brake shop had to turn them 3 times now (vibration on braking)!
Is it my driving habbits?
Is it I shoulda used toyota pads?
Toyota rotors?
Is God punishing me?
Im fine as of the last turn an hour ago
but what if in 3-4 weeks the shimmy is back ????
A: you are not being punished.it could be that you have bad habits, harsh stopping, ridding the brakes a little longer than you should, even the rumor of hitting water puddles with hot brakes.could be uneven lug nut torque.obviously there is a problem if it is continuous.
at this point, the rotors need to be turned on the vehicle.that way any run-out of the rotors and hub will be compensated when turned.even torque of the wheels will be a plus.
with this done work on your driving habits, watch what you are doing, light braking, watch out for large puddles when you just got through braking, and dont ride the brakes.
if this fails then how the rotors are mounted, and the parts used could be suspect.this is headache time.most all rotors are going to develope warpage.i have even felt a shimmy from time to time and it go away,on my tundra.good luck
Q: What does SR5 and TRD refer to when it comes to Toyota Tundra trucks?
I am looking to buy a used one and I don’t know what these things refer to.
A: The SR5 means…
Originally released around 1975, the ‘S’ denoted Sport, ‘R’ denoted the RN motor code, and ‘5′ denoted the 5-speed transmission. It quickly caught on and the SR5 connotation passed onto the Corolla and then onto other Toyota car models.
Today, the SR5 generally denotes a specifc Toyota trim level, with a more sporty look and wide flexibility for options.
The TRD means….
TRD stands for Toyota Racing Development. They are a semi-independent design, engineering, production, and marketing arm of Toyota. Working hand in hand with Toyota Motorsports, TRD produces and distributes parts that can be added to your Toyota vehicle that increases the performance, handling, looks, etc of any Toyota vehicle. Many vehicles, the Tundra included, come from the Toyota factory or distributor port with some of these TRD Parts installed. There are three offshoots of TRD. One is L-Tuned, a specific arm of TRD that handles nothing but Lexus modifications.
Lexus is the luxury arm of Toyota Motor Corporation. The other is Kazuma, which is the professional racing parts distribution arm of TRD. The third is TRD Sport Parts, which is the “common” TRD Parts distribution arm. One big side benefit to TRD parts is that if you purchase TRD parts and have a dealer install them, the parts will be covered under the balance of your manufacturer’s warranty. You can reach TRD at http://www.trdusa.com. Kazuma can be found at www.kazumaparts.com. TRD Sport Parts can be found at http://www.trdsportparts.com. L-Tuned can be found at www.l-tuned.com.
