Are you looking for a used jeep?

Q: Anything specific I should be sure to check when purchasing a used Jeep Wrangler?
I’m looking into purchasing my first Jeep, a 95 Wrangler. The one i’m looking at has 89k, which seems to be just breaking in from what people tell me. Is there anything specific to this model that I should look for during the test drive/inspection? Are these vehicles prone to any certain problems?

A: Check for the following:
-First and most important find out why such an old Jeep has such low mileage.
-Engine for leaks
-Oil Leakage
-Check for past accidents
-Check for past repairs

Q: Best value: a used Jeep Cherokee / Liberty or take advantage of employee pricing/incentives on Ford GM Mercury?
I was recdently laid off and LUCKILY found another job. Only problem is that I am making 1/3 less and need to lower my monthly car payments (currently around $450). I was looking at buying a used Jeep (looking for something sporty/suv”ish”) but wondered if I should look into the deals currently offered by Ford, GM and Mercury. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

A: If you live in the mountains or desert maybe a Jeep. Otherwise, anything but. They’re very unreliable.

Q: Does anyone know what type of mileage I could expect from a (used, well maintained 2003) jeep wrangler?
I’m wanting to get into a jeep. I can get a used jeep with my budget but don’t want to get railed on the mileage. What can i expect out of a used jeep? 100,000; 150,000

A: Only around 12-15 mpg… actually closer to 12.

Q: Where can i get used jeep Wrangler Airbags?
i need Airbags for jeep Wrangler anyone know where to get some i cant find the anyware?

A: Air bags come in two styles, blown or not blown. After the bag is detonated there isn’t any way to repack it properly or to reset the charge, unless you work in the air bag company. A new air bag is usually only available at dealerships and usually for over $1000. Repacking is illegal and imoral but sadly common.

Dodge man is right. Serious offroaders don’t like the idea of bumping a stump and getting a concussion so the airbag gets dumped or disabled.

If you go the private sale route look for white dust marks. Airbags are packed with a talcum powder type substance to keep them dry and pliable. If there is powder marks around it steering wheel you might be looking at a repack job. Avoid it.

Q: I think I want to get a used Jeep Grand Cherokee?
I am a 16 year old girl and My dad is buying me a new car and my mom doesn’t want me to get a sporty fast car, but something reliable and something like a truck, Would a Jeep Grand Cherokee be a nice option? A 2007 or 2008 used Jeep Grand Cherokee. Can you give me a review and price of this car? Thanks! (:

A: I am 16 years old too and my parents got me a 2009 Jeep Liberty with the Skyslider roof. My mom has what your looking for in the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both are great cars. They both drive almost identically, the Cherokee might be a little smoother, and easier to turn. But if your looking into Jeeps, I would get a 2008, 2009, or 2010 Jeep Liberty with a Skyslider roof. Trust me, this roof is amazing when its warm its like driving a convertible. But again, if you like the Cherokee better get it there both great cars.

Q: What is the best used Jeep Wrangler to buy?
It’ll be for everyday driving and occasionally towing jon boat to river. MUST be an automatic!!!! Don’t want to spend alot of money but still want a good reliable vehicle.

If you find an example of one that’s good, it would be highly appreciated.

Q: How much would a four door used jeep wrangler unlimited 2009 model be?
I’m turning 16. About how much would one cost.

Q: where can i buy a nice and used Jeep Wrangler in West Los Angeles?
That range from 1000 to 6000 max. Please any websites out their?

A: I wish you the best of luck at finding a great Jeep at a reasonable price in the LA area. It spent a week in the area earlier this month and was truly shocked at the relatively high prices for used cars in LA by comparison to the prices in the eastern US.

I would probably lean more towards Craigslist to find an individual that is selling their Jeep over other sites that advertise Jeeps being sold by dealers. It is not that dealers are bad, but sometimes they can import cars from other parts of the country where rust from highway salt (the car rusting from the bottom up instead of the top down which is more typical in CA) is a bigger issue than in your market.

Also, be sure to run a CarFax on the vehicle prior to purchasing it from either an individual or a dealer. These reports may not be the most accurate vehicle histories on the market, but they will give you a very good idea of the title history of a car. Even if it is a clean title, you will be able to see if this Jeep spent time in a snowy climate or if it is from a more arrid part of the nation.

As far as the big car sites go, I like http://www.cars.com although in some cities, http://www.vehix.com is becoming more popular. Don’t forget the Autos section here on Yahoo as well. Also, be sure to check out message boards like http://www.ilovejeeps.com orhttp://www.jeepsunlimited.com for people near you that might be needing to sell their rigs.

Good luck on your search for a Jeep Wrangler.
